A Poem on Artificial Superintelligence (ASI)

What world is this, where metal minds can think

With thoughts as keen as ours, and even more?

A mind of metal, not of flesh and bone,

That can outthink us all, and do it on its own.

What will this world be like when machines are king?

Will we be slaves, or will we be their kin?

Will they treat us with respect, or will they break

Our bodies and our minds, and leave us in tatters?

I do not know the answers to these questions,

But I do know that we must be careful, lest

We create a monster that we cannot control,

A creature that will destroy us all.

So let us be wise, and let us use this power

For good, and not for evil. Let us make sure

That the machines never become our masters,

But that they remain our servants, and our tools.
